Happy National Margarita Day!

Every year, smack dab in the middle of winter, we celebrate National Margarita Day. We think this time of year is the perfect time to celebrate the citrus based cocktail because it reminds us that warmer days are ahead!

Our list of margarita recipes has something for everyone, with recipes calling for rosé wine, spicy jalapeños, and refreshing cucumbers! In honor of a cocktail that is loved and consumed by millions, here are 4 margarita recipes you’ll want to try!


1. Rosé Raspberry Margarita

Ingredients

3-4 fresh raspberries

2 oz. P&M Margarita Mix

3 oz. Dry Rosé Wine

1.5 oz. tequila

Instructions

  1. Muddle raspberries in a mixing glass until they are well mashed
  2. Add ice, tequila, P&M Margarita, and rosé wine
  3. Stir well
  4. Pour into a stemless glass or rocks glass rimmed with salt
  5. Garnish with raspberries and lime

2. Skinny Spicy Grapefruit Margarita

Ingredients

2 oz grapefruit juice

2 oz. P&M Skinny Margarita

1.5 oz. tequila (try jalapeño infused tequila for an extra kick!)

2-3 slices of jalapeño

Instructions

  1. Add P&M Skinny Margarita, Tequila, and grapefruit juice to a cocktail shaker
  2. Fill with ice and shake until well mixed
  3. Pour into a chilled Margarita glass
  4. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and a jalapeño slice


3. Strawberry Rosemary Margarita

Ingredients

  • Powell & Mahoney Classic Margarita – 3 oz
  • Strawberry Rosemary Simple Syrup – 1 oz
  • Silver Tequila – 1.5 oz
  • Fresh Strawberries – 5
  • Sprigs of rosemary – 3-4

Instructions

To make the simple syrup:

Combine 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and then turn down to simmer. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Add 5 topped and sliced strawberries, stir and simmer for ten minutes. Remove from heat. Add a sprig of fresh rosemary. Let mixture cool to room temperature & allow to “marinate” for about an hour. Strain mixture and pour into into a glass container. This will yield about enough simple syrup for 4 cocktails. Refrigerate until ready to use!

To make one cocktail:

  1. Combine simple syrup, tequila, and P&M Margarita mix into a cocktail shaker
  2. Fill shaker with ice
  3. Shake well until all ingredients are combined
  4. Rim a rocks glass with salt and fill with ice
  5. Strain cocktail into glass and garnish with a sprig of rosemary

4. Skinny Cucumber Melon Margarita

Skinny Cucumber Melon Margarita in a series of National Margarita Day Recipes

 

Ingredients

  • Powell & Mahoney Skinny Margarita – 3 oz
  • Midori Melon Liqueur – 1 oz
  • Silver Tequila – 1.5 oz.
  • Cucumber Slices – 2-3

Instructions

  1. Add Midori, tequila, P&M Skinny Margarita, and a slice of cucumber to a cocktail shaker
  2. Fill with ice
  3. Cover and shake until well mixed
  4. Rim a rocks glass with salt and fill with ice
  5. Strain cocktail into glass
  6. Garnish with a cucumber slice
