Fall is the one season that truly makes me feel nostalgic. The cooling temperatures and the turning and falling of leaves serve as reminders of past football games, fairs, and Fall festivals. As a kid, one of my favorite treats at these events was caramel apples. There was always something so appealing about those beautiful bundles of creamy caramel and crisp apple. If you, too, are a fan of this flavor combo, then you are going to be in love with this recipe: a Caramel Apple Mule made with Powell and Mahoney’s Old Ballycastle Ginger and Ginger Beer mixers, apple vodka and homemade caramel sauce.

The flavors of apple, ginger, and caramel are the perfect cocktail combo for Fall. This seasonal take on the Moscow Mule sounds amazing, right? I promise it is. The ginger is spicy, the apple is tart and the drizzle of caramel adds the perfect bit of sweet to this zingy cocktail.
The flavors may be complex, but the recipe is not. That’s the beauty of using Powell and Mahoney’s Craft Cocktail Mixers. They are ready to go when it’s cocktail time. Start each cocktail by filling a shaker with ice, 2 ounces of apple vodka and 2 ounces of Old Ballycastle Ginger.  Give it shake and pour it into a copper Mule mug or a Collins glass. Add more ice, if necessary. Top with 3-4 ounces of sparkling Ginger Beer mixer. Garnish with an apple wheel and drizzle creamy caramel sauce over the mug.

I made my own caramel sauce, but you can easily substitute your favorite pre-made one. Your guests will love it either way! When you assemble this festive beverage for them, they will be delighted. Serve these Caramel Apple Mules up in bright, copper Mule mugs along with cocktail napkins like these in black and white Buffalo check from Dot & Army and you will create the perfect Fall cocktail spread for your next tailgate or post-Fall Festival gathering.
