Liz from FloatingKitchen.net joins us for the first Thirsty Thursday recipe of 2017! Fewer calories without compromising on taste and ingredients is the only way we do “skinny” margaritas. Skinny, citrus, tequila… what more could you ask from a January cocktail?! Cheers!

Ingredients:

For the Grapefruit-Sugar Rim

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp. grapefruit zest

For the Margaritas

1 (750-ml) bottle Powell & Mahoney Skinny Margarita

2 cups tequila

1.5 cups fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

1/2 grapefruit, sliced

1 lime, sliced

Ice

Directions:

Add the sugar and grapefruit zest to a small bowl. Then use your fingers to rub the grapefruit zest into the sugar, releasing the oils. Set aside.

In a pitcher, combine the P&M Skinny Margarita, tequila and grapefruit juice. Add the sliced grapefruit and lime. You can cover and refrigerate the pitcher for several hours before serving the margaritas. Or if you plan to serve them immediately, stir in a large handful of ice to promote chilling before pouring into individual glasses.

Wet the rim of your glasses with a small amount of grapefruit juice. Then invert the glasses over the grapefruit-sugar mixture, pressing down to coat. Add fresh ice to your glasses. Pour in the chilled grapefruit margarita. Serve immediately.
